Ferrari Art Car by Peter Klasen

This Ferrari 328 GTS was transformed into an extraordinary Art Car by the renowned German artist Peter Klasen in 2010 after a commission by a French gallery owner passionate about Mecanic Art. Since the late 1990s, Klasen has ventured into the realm of Art Cars, creating stunning works on various vehicles, including two racing Porsches, two Ferraris and even a Tesla.

Born in 1935, Klasen is a pivotal figure in the New Figuration and Narrative Figuration movements. His work often critiques industrial society, blending elements from advertising, industrial signage, and medical imagery to explore themes of alienation and human isolation.

Klasen's artistic journey began at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin, where he developed his unique style of combining photography, painting, and found objects. His compositions frequently question the relationship between technology and humanity, provoking reflection on the impact of modernity on the individual. This makes him a significant voice in European contemporary art.

Klasen describes this world-renowned 328 GTS as a "mobile, efficient, high-performance sculpture in which the most beautiful forms of industrial aesthetics meet those of contemporary art." This unique Art Car has been exhibited in museums, contemporary art galleries, at Le Mans Classic, and at Chantilly Art & Elegance by Richard Mille. It comes with a framed autographed lithograph, a book on the Mecanica exhibition in Paris in 2014, including its making, and a book on its exhibition at the Posco Museum in Seoul, Korea.
