Mint Marvels
Two exceptional Porsches have taken centre stage in the latest Hagerty film featuring Henry Catchpole, consigned exclusively to Broad Arrow Private Sales. This collaboration between Broad Arrow, a Hagerty company renowned for its modern classic supercars, and Henry Catchpole brings together two ultra-rare machines in a film that is as thrilling as it is insightful.
The Porsche 911 TAG Turbo custom-built by Lanzante and completed in 2020, is one of only 11 ever produced. Finished in striking Mint Green over Black leather accented with Blue/Green tartan cloth, it has clocked less than 300 miles since completion. Under the bonnet lies a 1.5-litre TAG Turbo “TTE P01” V6 F1 engine, originally developed by Porsche and rebuilt by Cosworth. Capable of revving to 10,250rpm and with a claimed top speed of 200 mph, this engine powered Alain Prost in 3 Formula One Grands Prix.
The RUF CTR Anniversary, one of only 50 limited production models, comes dressed in PTS Mint Green paired with a Black Alcantara interior. Equipped with a formidable 710-horsepower flat-six twin-turbo engine and a seven-speed manual gearbox, it accelerates from 0-62 mph in just 3.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 224 mph. Enhanced with features such as front axle lift, foldable Kevlar carbon bucket seats, and a lightweight door option, this car is as track-ready as it is suited to everyday driving.
For the first time, these two striking Mint Green beauties have been filmed together, offering a rare glimpse into their unique characters. Henry Catchpole takes both cars to the picturesque Anglesey Circuit in Wales, pushing them to their limits and capturing every exhilarating moment. He described the RUF as “utterly extreme” and a “proper wild child”, while praising the TAG Turbo for its blend of high performance and everyday usability, claiming it feels like “one of the very best 911s” ever made.
The story of the Porsche TAG Turbo is steeped in motorsport lore. In the early 1980s, McLaren’s Ron Dennis approached Porsche to build a turbocharged F1 engine, leading to the creation of the 1.5-litre twin-turbo V6 that powered multiple McLaren MP4/2 victories and clinched several championships. The legacy of this engineering marvel lives on in the Porsche 911 TAG Turbo, a true collector’s piece that honours its rich racing heritage.
This film not only celebrates two remarkable Porsches but also showcases the spirit of innovation and passion that continues to drive the world of high-performance supercars.
