Mercedes-Benz x Moncler by NIGO
Mercedes-Benz and Moncler have expanded their creative partnership with the launch of a new campaign and art piece at The City of Genius show in Shanghai. The collaboration unveiled the Mercedes-Benz Project G-Class Past II Future, an art piece inspired by 1990s design and brought to life by NIGO, the celebrated fashion designer and music producer. This project forms the basis of a new limited-edition G-Class model, available in a run of just 20 vehicles, and also marks the beginning of a capsule fashion collection.
The art piece itself is a reimagined 1990s G-Class, meticulously restored and modernised with NIGO’s signature style. Featuring a two-tone olive green and grey colour scheme, striking black and gold accents, and the iconic G-Class spare wheel, the design bridges the gap between classic and contemporary. The interior has been overhauled, with notable contributions from sound artist Devon Turnbull, who designed an immersive audio system, adding to the futuristic yet nostalgic vibe.
In April 2025, both the limited-edition G-Class and a gender-neutral fashion capsule will be available for purchase. The collection, blending 90s streetwear influences with modern aesthetics, includes jackets, hoodies, and checked shirts, all featuring a classic colour palette of blue, black, green, and white with orange accents.
As part of their ongoing partnership, Mercedes-Benz and Moncler’s brand campaign, "Past Forward. Where the Future is Driven by the Past," celebrates the connection between past and future. This theme was brought to life through a campaign shot by photographer Thibaut Grevet, capturing the collaboration’s evolution and its urban edge.
