Following their successful restoration projects with the Lancia Delta Integrale and the iconic E30 M3, the team at Manhart has set their sights on an even more historical gem, making it their oldest undertaking to date. True to form, their chosen canvas for this restoration masterpiece is none other than a BMW, the predecessor to the renowned 3-series, the 02. This striking vehicle, a true symbol of its era, boasts a rich motorsport legacy, partially attributed to its collaboration with the esteemed Alpina brand.

At the heart of this sporty two-door marvel resides a potent two-litre four-cylinder engine, a variant hailing from the Alpina A4 lineage. This engine is far from ordinary, featuring a single throttle system and an Alpina-manufactured manifold, setting it apart from its stock counterpart, the BMW 2002 tii, which boasted a more modest 130bhp. Thanks to the additional installation of a K&N airbox, this powerplant now roars with authority, delivering an impressive 200bhp. To further amplify the experience, a Manhart exhaust system has been installed, not only boosting power but also enhancing the auditory sensation.

This meticulous restoration project pays meticulous attention to visual aesthetics as well. The distinctive Alpina livery, adorned with light green and silver accents, gracefully adorns the Agave Green bodywork, a shade borrowed from BMW's rich colour palette. This vibrant green theme carries over into the interior, where the seats feature light green and blue stripes.
