The Minty Forty
There is no such thing as an ‘ordinary’ F40. A car with such a pedigree, with such outrageous design, compelling performance, and rarity could never be anything but spectacular.
Each of the 1,235 Ferrari F40s built left the Ferrari factory in Maranello finished in a single colour: Rosso Corsa. However, the latest owner of this particular Ferrari F40 had a different vision. Its head-turning new look is a key step in giving this F40 an identity all its own. The paintwork is a clear homage to the famous Verde Pallido 250 GTO built for Sir Stirling Moss, which was eventually raced at the 1962 24 Hours of Le Mans by Innes Ireland and Masten Gregory.
The 250 GTO, much like the F40, is most often seen wearing classic Ferrari red; Sir Stirling’s unique livery sets it instantly apart from its distinguished peers. The beautiful pale green shade has inspired paint colours on subsequent Ferrari models, though never, until now, on an F40. To complement the exterior colour, the interior has been expertly re-trimmed in blue, bringing a new coherence to the ‘Minty’ concept.
This unique F40 stands as a testament to the timeless appeal of Ferrari's design, blending the legendary history of the 250 GTO with the modern prowess of the F40. It is a striking example of how a classic can be reimagined, paying tribute to the past while making a bold statement for the future.
