Return of the Supercat
The TWR Supercat is a powerful Super-GT car, featuring a supercharged V12 engine with over 600 bhp, built on the renowned Jaguar XJS platform. It marks the beginning of a new era for the legendary TWR name.
TWR has a strong history with Jaguar and the XJS, winning races at iconic venues like Spa and Bathurst. Limited to just 88 units, in honour of TWR's 1988 Le Mans victory, the Supercat showcases bold design and promises an engaging driving experience, setting the tone for future TWR projects.
Every aspect of the car reflects TWR's racing heritage, from the manual transmission to the rigorous testing and development process. Led by Fergus Walkinshaw, the engineering team has spent over two years refining the Supercat, collaborating with top design talent like Khyzyl Saleem and Magnus Walker.
The result is a modern interpretation of the Jaguar XJS, with carbon fibre panels for weight reduction and improved aerodynamics. This project represents TWR's resurgence under Fergus Walkinshaw and John Kane, aiming to continue the legacy of Fergus's father, Tom Walkinshaw.
The Supercat is the first TWR product for the 21st century, showcasing a blend of modern engineering with classic heritage. Production began nearly three years ago at TWR’s Newbury base, which will serve as the production home for this and future TWR projects.
