BMW x Kith

BMW and Kith have joined forces once again, unveiling the third chapter of their ongoing collaboration. This new project blends BMW’s rich heritage with Kith’s contemporary vision, creating an experience that bridges past and present.

For this chapter, Ronnie Fieg has reimagined the legendary BMW M1, the first model crafted by BMW’s M division. Using a 1981 BMW M1 E26 as the foundation, Fieg and BMW meticulously rebuilt the car with authentic components sourced from BMW’s archives. The result is a stunning bespoke design, finished in the rare and striking Techno Violet.

The car’s exterior is complemented by a collaborative Kith M-Series badge on the rear decklid. Inside, the luxurious cabin is lined with BMW Individual Black Merino Leather, featuring Kith’s signature monogram pattern on the seats, gear knob, door panels and floor mats.

Under the bonnet, the BMW M1 retains its renowned performance capabilities. Its 3.5-litre 6-cylinder engine delivers 277 hp, with advanced mechanical injection and four valves per cylinder, ahead of its time in the early 1980s. With a top speed of around 165 mph, the M1 remains a testament to BMW’s engineering legacy, celebrated now through Kith’s innovative lens.
