Hot Wheels x Daniel Arsham
Hot Wheels and artist Daniel Arsham have joined forces to introduce a series of eight new collectible cars. The initial set features an eroded version of the iconic 1973 Dodge Charger SE known as Hot Wheels Rodger Dodger, complete with a whimsical engine and blower on the hood, originally manufactured between 1974 and 1979. Additionally, the collection includes a Porsche 930 Turbo. These specially designed vehicles cater to collectors and can be housed within the eroded Hot Wheels Super Rally Case, accommodating all eight Arsham Hot Wheels collector cars.
Daniel Arsham, a renowned artist based in New York, is celebrated for his unique approach to depicting eroded modern artifacts, utilising distinctive colours and materials to showcase machinery, artifacts, and human figures. His creations often incorporate elements like sand, selenite, and volcanic ash. For this collaboration with Hot Wheels, Arsham opted for Silkstone, a composite material developed in partnership with Mattel, giving the cars a porcelain-like appearance. The collection will also include keychains, stickers, and a limited quantity of prints.
