Death Race 2000's 'The Alligator'

After the world collapse of 1979, the United Provinces, formally the United States, falls under the control of the tyrannical Mr. President (Sandy McCallum) who creates the annual Transcontinental Road Race. The sporting event requires five drivers to race across the country while running over pedestrians along the way to earn points. At the forefront of the race is the mysteriously masked Frankenstein (David Carradine) whose weapon of choice comes fully equipped with real horns from a bull for optimum point scoring.

Based on a 1975 Chevrolet C3 Corvette, ‘The Alligator’ from Death Race 2000 (1975), was designed by James Powers, Dean Jeffries and George Barris. It’s set to roll across the block with Mecum Auction at their Glendale sale held between March 16th-19th. Photos © Mecum Auctions.
