The Heights by Matthew Porter

These images from photographer / artist Matthew Porter feature an array of 60s and 70s American muscle cars taking to the skies. Known as the ‘flying car’ series, this set of images appear to represent freeze frames from a number of Hollywood movie car chases, albeit tongue-in-cheek.

Carefully crafted, both in the studio, where Porter suspends model cars on strings, and on the streets of cities such as San Francisco and Los Angeles, where he looks for the perfect hill at sunset as his canvas.

The collection of photographs is available as book by Porter called ‘The Heights.’
