'The Escape' from BMW Films
'The Escape' is a homage to the 15th anniversary of the critically acclaimed original series, 'The Hire,' eight groundbreaking online short films starring Clive Owen as an enigmatic driver for hire.
Each film was a unique story, with David Fincher and Ridley and Tony Scott acting as executive producers. The films were helmed by acclaimed directors John Frankenheimer, Ang Lee, Wong Kar Wai, Guy Ritchie, Alejandro González Iñárritu, John Woo, Joe Carnahan and Tony Scott, and featured stars like Madonna, Gary Oldman, Don Cheadle, Mickey Rourke, F. Murray Abraham and James Brown. Available only online and released four years before the invention of YouTube, the films were critically-acclaimed and fifteen years later still have a cult following.
'The Escape' from Academy Award nominated director Neill Blomkamp ('District 9,' 'Elysium'), this action-packed short film features original BMW Films star and Oscar nominated actor Clive Owen ('Closer,' 'Children of Men') who reprises his role as The Driver, Dakota Fanning ('War of the Worlds,' 'I am Sam'), Jon Bernthal ('The Punisher,' 'Daredevil') and Vera Farmiga ('The Departed,' 'Up in the Air'). The all-new BMW 5 Series serves as Owen’s vehicle of choice and co-star.
